1. Who we are and accepting these Terms
The Services are operated by the developer trading as NationQ Studio (“NationQ”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing an authenticated feature, submitting content, or publishing a nation, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use those features.
You must be at least 13 and old enough to agree to these Terms where you live. If local law requires a parent or guardian’s permission, you may use the Services only with that permission. If you accept for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it.
2. Steam and your account
ntgg.me uses Steam to authenticate accounts. You must have a valid Steam account and comply with the Steam Subscriber Agreement. Valve, Steam, and NationQ are separate parties. Valve does not operate ntgg.me, and these Terms do not change your agreement with Valve.
You are responsible for activity through your Steam account and ntgg.me sessions. Do not sell, share, or transfer access to an ntgg.me account, evade a suspension, impersonate another person, or attempt to connect content to a Steam ID that is not yours. Sign out and secure your Steam account if you believe access has been compromised.
3. The Services
The Services currently include:
- the public National Transit World portal, Guide, and fictional nation pages;
- Steam-authenticated profiles, discussions, reactions, reports, votes, moderation, and inbox features;
- web and in-game bug reports and suggestions (“Feedback”); and
- optional publication of a limited National Transit world snapshot (“Share World”).
Some pages describe planned or experimental features. A description is not a promise that a feature, release, remedy, target version, or publication date will be delivered. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features for operational, security, legal, or product reasons. Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice of a material adverse change.
Purchases of National Transit are handled by Steam and are governed by the applicable Steam terms and store policies. ntgg.me does not currently process payments or provide a separate paid subscription.
4. Feedback
You may submit bugs, suggestions, descriptions, images, and diagnostic information. New Feedback begins visible only to you and authorised staff while it has the initial open status. If staff triages it into a later workflow status, the Feedback and your public author information may become publicly visible unless we classify it as internal or otherwise restricted. In-game diagnostics remain limited to you and authorised staff.
Feedback images are stored at unlisted public URLs. They are not linked from the public Feedback board during initial triage, but anyone who obtains an image URL may be able to view or copy it. Do not upload sensitive images.
We may edit presentation, categorise, link duplicates, request information, publish status updates, restrict visibility, close, or remove Feedback. Votes, status labels, and target versions express community interest or current planning only; they are not commitments. Do not include passwords, Steam tickets, access tokens, private save files, personal contact details, or confidential information in a report.
You allow us to use ideas, suggestions, and non-confidential technical information in Feedback without restriction or payment, including to develop, test, market, and improve National Transit and the Services. This does not transfer ownership of your original copyrightable content.
5. Share World
Share World is optional. It publishes a limited snapshot of fictional simulation information to a stable public URL. The published fields can include nation and settlement names, descriptions, map positions, transport networks, population and GDP figures, milestones, game dates, capture time, and game or simulation version. It does not publish your full save file.
Before the first publish under a policy version, the game asks you to review the current Privacy Policy and Terms. If you enable publish-on-exit, the game may send a new snapshot after a successful local save without asking on every exit. You can turn that option off. Publishing failures do not roll back your local save.
You are responsible for names, descriptions, and other expressive material in the snapshot. Do not publish personal information, unlawful material, confidential information, or content that infringes another person’s rights. We may unpublish or remove a nation that violates these Terms or creates risk for users or the Services.
6. Your content and licence to operate the Services
You keep any rights you have in content you submit (“User Content”). You grant NationQ a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for technical formatting and accessibility, display, distribute, and communicate User Content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, moderate, improve, and promote the Services and National Transit. This licence includes displaying your public profile information alongside your content.
The licence lasts while the content is available through the Services and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, moderation records, legal compliance, and material already used with your permission. To the extent permitted by law, you permit us to make technical changes without separately identifying you as the author, but we do not claim ownership of your User Content.
You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit and license User Content. Public content may be copied or shared by other users outside our control.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use the Services to:
- break the law, infringe rights, or encourage harm;
- harass, threaten, exploit, impersonate, or publish another person’s private information;
- post hateful, sexually exploitative, fraudulent, malicious, or deliberately misleading material;
- upload malware or attempt to access accounts, systems, credentials, non-public data, or diagnostics without permission;
- scrape, automate, reverse engineer, overload, bypass rate limits, or interfere with the Services except where applicable law expressly allows it;
- manipulate votes, reports, identities, ownership checks, or moderation processes;
- submit repeated duplicates, spam, advertising, or content unrelated to the relevant feature; or
- use fictional simulation pages to falsely imply affiliation with a real government, public authority, or institution.
We may investigate suspected violations and preserve or disclose information as described in the Privacy Policy. Moderation decisions may consider context, severity, history, safety, and operational risk.
8. NationQ content and intellectual property
The Services, National Transit, their software, designs, artwork, text, databases, trademarks, and other NationQ-provided material are owned by NationQ or its licensors and are protected by law. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to access and use ntgg.me for its intended non-commercial purpose.
You may link to public pages and share ordinary screenshots, subject to any separate fan-content guidance we publish. No permission is granted to use NationQ or National Transit branding in a way that implies sponsorship or to copy, resell, or commercially exploit the Services.
Steam and the Steam logo are trademarks and/or registered trademarks of Valve Corporation. Other names and marks belong to their respective owners.
9. Moderation, suspension, and termination
We may hide or remove content, limit features, revoke sessions, suspend or terminate accounts, and block requests when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, comply with law, address security or technical risk, or maintain the Services. Serious or repeated violations may result in immediate action.
You may stop using the Services at any time and delete your ntgg.me account from the Account page (type the confirmation phrase shown there), or request help by emailing [email protected]. Ending your ntgg.me account does not affect your Steam account or your licence for the National Transit game. Published nations and similar owned site data may be removed; product feedback and discussion comments may be retained with your name and avatar redacted. Sections that by their nature should survive — including licences already relied upon, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute provisions — remain in effect.
10. Third-party services and links
The Services rely on or link to third-party services, including Steam. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, or practices. A link or integration does not imply endorsement unless we expressly say so.
11. Disclaimers
National Transit and National Transit World are fictional simulations for entertainment. Countries, institutions, populations, routes, finances, and other simulation outputs are not real-world or official information and must not be relied on for professional, investment, transport, government, or public-safety decisions.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, permanent storage, compatibility with every device, preservation of every publication, or that community content is accurate or suitable. You should keep your own local and Steam Cloud save protections as appropriate.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, remedies, or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NationQ and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss, or for loss of data, goodwill, opportunity, profits, or business arising from the Services. NationQ’s aggregate liability arising from the free ntgg.me Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid directly to NationQ for those Services in the twelve months before the event or US$50.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, which may include fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer remedies. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to NationQ Studio in its place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts with jurisdiction over NationQ Studio’s place of establishment will have jurisdiction over disputes, except where mandatory law permits or requires you to bring a claim elsewhere. Consumers keep any mandatory protections and rights to bring claims in their home jurisdiction that applicable law does not permit these Terms to remove.
Before filing a formal claim, please contact [email protected] with a description of the issue so the parties can try to resolve it informally. This request does not shorten or waive a legal limitation period.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Services, law, security, or our operations. We will post the updated version and effective date and provide additional notice where required. Share World may require acceptance of the current version before another publish. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you must stop using the affected Services.
15. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the agreement for the ntgg.me Services described here; separate terms may apply to the National Transit game, Steam, promotions, tests, or future paid services. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining terms will continue. A failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a reorganisation or transfer of the Services, subject to applicable law.
