Transport lines and map styles

Colour, thickness, pattern and curvature help you identify transport modes and grades without opening a route.

Applies to game version 0.1.13

The four transport modes

RoadSolid line. Colour identifies the grade; width also grows with lane count.
RailAlternating centre bars with two parallel edge lines.
AirThin, translucent red curve between airport settlements.
WaterTranslucent blue dashed line following a navigable water path.

Road grades

Roads are solid. Each grade has its own colour and base width. Additional lanes increase the line width without changing its colour.

Rail grades

Railways use alternating coloured and pale centre segments with thin parallel edges. More tracks make the railway wider.

Ferries, bridges and tunnels

Ferry-enabled water routeA thicker blue dashed line with longer dashes.
Underwater tunnel sectionEven dots in the road or rail grade colour.

Bridges keep the normal road or rail style. They do not receive a separate overlay.

When the congestion overlay is on

The overlay replaces normal road and rail grade colours with operating-status colours. Route labels are hidden so the status view remains readable.
